Lending Club Borrower fell on hard times
I borrowed a personal loan from Lending Club to pay off credit card debt for both myself and my husband. Soon after that my husband fell ill and had to quit working and about three months after I borrowed the money I lost my job.
I went to work in a factory for three months just trying to keep my head above water. I did make the loan payments but in July I just couldn't do it anymore. I did find a new job and went to Greenpath to enter a debt management plan. Even though Lending Club is going to get their full payment every month they will not accept the payments because my loan in in arrears.
I don't want to be known as a dead beat borrower I am trying to pay via Greenpath and they will not accept the payments. I am sure their investors would be interested to know that some of the borrowers honestly do want to make payments but are not allowed to based on the fact that they are in arrears with their loan.
So now what?? I guess the loan will go to a collections company and Greenpath will have to discuss it with them.
