I was issued a approval mail document and was subsequently denied once visiting the web site noted. Why would they send an approvals notice if the information was inaccurate? Lending companies should not be permitted to send approval notices unless they can actually approve the credit. This is a waste of my time and mail carrier efforts. I believe this is mail fraud and plan to investigate further. Has anyone else had a similar challenge? If you have, please forward your complaint to:

If you have a complaint about any type of consumer fraud, including any type of mass-marketing fraud, you can file a complaint through a toll-free Consumer Help Line, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-87*-382-****) or online with the Federal Trade Commission

A group effort will be required to stop these annoying business ploys.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

I receive, in the mail, solicitations from Lending Club weekly. When I try their enclosed URL for unsubscribing these mailings I am re-directed to their home site which offers no solution to the problem. I believe their interest rates are usurious and do not want them cloggimg my mailbox with their junk mail.

Thank you for your application and your feedback. We understand that you were disappointed by your experience.

Our Web site contains additional information about Lending Club’s pre-screening process. http://kb.lendingclub.com/articles/Borrower/Why-was-I-declined-for-a-loan-after-receiving-a-pre-approved-offer-in-the-mail/?l=en_US&c=Borrower%3ABorrower_Eligibility&fs=Search&pn=1

Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application don't impact credit scores, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry. You're eligible to apply again for a loan via Lending Club thirty days after the date of the last application.

If we're not able to provide a loan we do sometimes refer to other companies we think may be able to help you. If you missed the opportunity to opt out in advance and still want to opt out, just hit the link at the bottom of any of the emails you've received.

You can also contact member services at support@lendingclub.com and we can take care of it for you. Thanks!
